Costanza Sciubba Caniglia deals with disinformation, in particular its geopolitical use on digital platforms. For the Wikimedia Foundation she is in charge of developing Wikipedia's global anti-disinformation strategy and is affiliated with the Shorenstein Center for Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she co-founded the academic journal HKS Misinformation Review and where she conducts research. She is the director and founder of the Institute of Digital Geopolitics, a think-tank active in Italy and the US on issues of governance in the digital era. Costanza also launched a research project on disinformation operations in Italy in collaboration with Luiss Guido Carli, with a contribution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, now at its second cycle. He also consults for various international organizations including OSCE/ODIHR, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others on the impact of disinformation on democratic processes and internet policies. She worked for many years at the United Nations in New York, as a correspondent, public information officer, and in communications at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the UN during Italy's term on the Security Council. She writes and consults on mis- and disinformation issues and her work has been presented at several universities, including Harvard, Columbia, Luiss, Tor Vergata, Michigan University and in the media, including CNN, Wired, D di Repubblica, La Stampa and RSI News. She was nominated by D di Repubblica as one of the '50 Women of the Year 2021'.
