With over 15 years of diverse professional experience, Mahya has excelled as an entrepreneur, scientific manager, and economic journalist, contributing to leading European publications, including Il Corriere della Sera, L’Espresso, Handelsblatt, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
As a successful entrepreneur, Mahya has founded and sold two e-commerce companies, gaining invaluable experience in leading interdisciplinary teams and coordinating complex projects across various departments. Her unique blend of expertise in mathematics and journalism brought her to LUISS Data Lab, where she currently works on sophisticated mathematical algorithms to detect and analyze disinformation and its spread.
In addition to her work at LUISS Data Lab, Mahya shares her knowledge at the LUISS School of Journalism, teaching courses such as Quantitative Storytelling, Information Visualization, and Big Data and Social Networks.
