Bill Emmott is an internationally renowned journalist and author. A former editor of the
Economist from 1993 to 2006, in his latest volume (The Fate of the West: How to Save the
Best Political Idea in History) he addresses the issue of the future of liberalism in Western
societies. He is chairman of the Wake Up foundation and the International Institute for
Strategic Studies, the Japan Society of the UK, and Trinity College Dublin's Long Room Hub
Arts & Humanities Research Institute.
